Arawanna Janette Goodrich went home with the angels on November 29, 2011 at the Hooper Care Center surrounded by her family and her Care Center family.

She was born on July 27, 1922 in Gordon, NE. She lived in Merriman, NE. where she attended elementary school. The family then moved to Cody, NE. where she graduated from Cody High School in 1941. She worked at the Cody Bank before moving to Fremont to work at the Mead Ordinance Plant and then to Omaha where she worked at Sdientific Radio until marrying Harold Goodrich in January of 1945. At that time, they moved back to Cody. They were blessed with 2 daughters and an adopted son. In 1950 they moved to Scribner, NE.

They were active members of the United Church of Christ. She directed and participated in the church choir, taught Sunday School, was a member of Woman's Fellowship, Tri C's and Pollyanna's. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Order of the Eastern Star and the Community Chorus. The Goodrich's were avid square dancers, belonging to many clubs and were always ready to pack a bag for a bus trip for another adventure. She operated Janette's Beauty Salon for years before retiring because of health issues. In September of 2004, she moved into the Elkhorn Valley Villa in Scribner residing there until 2007, at which time she became a resident at the Hooper Care Center. "Miss Janette" loved her Care Center family and they loved her. Her singing, since of humor, and caring attitude will be missed.

Janette was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters, two brothers, her son and a grandson.

She is survived by two daughters, Creeta (Danny) Dahl and Candice (Marion) Cochran of Scribner, six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be 2pm on Friday at the United Church of Christ in Scribner. Pastor Larry Jirsak will officiate. Burial will follow at the Scribner Cemetery. There is no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the Hooper Care Center or the Elkhorn Valley Villa.

"My sympathies to Creeta and Candy and their families.......A life well lived can be well celebrated. I will always remember your Mother as a cheerful friendly-to-kids person and your Father as my patient smiling "hairstylist" when I was a farm boy. Together they wrote a terrific love story and I remember them being incredible Dancers! Both left footprints in Scribner and left legacies via their offspring. Of course, I cannot forgot "Goody" your brother and my high school classmate and one of my early friends when we moved to town. Enjoy Each Day, Heartfelt, Larry"

"I will add Bob & Susy to this note as I know their computer is down. We will miss our Dear Auntie so much and where we didn't get down to see her often she was always in our hearts at family getogethers and such. So enjoyed her letters when she was still able to write them. Funny, funny, I would laugh so and read them over and over. Needless to say they are among my memoirs forever. Our prayers are with you Candy and Creeta and your families. We love you all."
