Harriet was born on March 14, 1917 in Ames, Nebraska to Harry and Margaretha (Low) Dahl. The family lived in the Ames & Fremont area until 1925 when they moved to the Burlington, Colorado area. In 1934, the family moved to a Graf, Nebraska area farm and Harriet graduated from high school in Tecumseh, Nebraska.

She lived in Omaha for many years, and for 26 of those years she was a claims service administrator for Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company. In 1990 she moved to Texas, and in 1999, she moved to Fremont. She has been a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by a son Raymond Arandus, grandson Roger Arandus, brothers Clarence and Henry Dahl, and sister Lois Ludvigsen.

A memorial service will be 2 PM Saturday (Dec. 10, 2011) in the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Michael McGregor officiating. Due to her interest in the advancement of medical science, Harriet has donated her body. A committal will take place later in Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery in Omaha. There is no public viewing. Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church.
