Doris was born May 12, 1919 at Arlington, Nebraska and grew up in that area on a farm. Her parents were Walter and Laura (Laaker) Hilgenkamp. On February 4, 1940, she was married in Immanuel Lutheran Church, east of Winslow, to LaVerne Busch.

Following their marriage they lived on different farms until moving to a farm east of Immanuel Lutheran Church in 1953. They farmed there until retiring in 1988 and moving into Fremont.

Doris was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Fremont, and was formerly a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she had been a member of the LWML and the Ladies Aid. At Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, she was a member of the LWML, Tabitha Society, Altar Guild, and the Good Shepherd Quilters.

She was preceded in death by her husband LaVerne in February of 1988, a son-in-law Don Meier, daughter-in-law Norma Busch, and sister Lorraine Hartung.

12 great grandchildren

The funeral will be 10:30 AM Monday (Dec. 12th) in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with the Rev. Timothy Gierke and Rev. Timothy Anderson officiating. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery. A memorial fund will be established.

Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, will be on Sunday from 2 to 8 PM with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 PM.
