Leona L. Carson, age 89, of Fremont
Died Sunday May 13, 2018 at Nye Legacy
Leona was born August 16, 1928 in Murdock, Nebraska to Louis and Lena 'Fisser' Timm. She was raised in Murdock, attended school in Murdock and graduated in 1946. She Married Jim Carson August 31, 1947. After their marriage they farmed for 10 years. They then lived in Albany OR., and owned a gas station in Onawa, IA. The couple moved to Kennard, NE. where they lived until retiring and moving back to Murdock. When Leona's husband became sick they moved to Fremont to be closer to family. Leona was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Daughters – Linda (Wally) Meadows of Fremont
Sons – Bill (Peggy) Carson of Lincoln
Rick (Kim) Carson of Murdock
11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren
Sister – Lillian Deal of Minnesota
Brother – Leroy (Marilyn) Timm of Murdock
Sister-in-law – Eva Helms of Kansas
Leona was preceded in death by her husband Jim in January of 2017, son Jimmy, daughter Diann Schiessler, brother Louis, sister Lila, brothers-in-law Don Deal and Vernon Helms, and granddaughter Danielle.
The funeral will be Thursday 10am at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Fremont. Burial will follow the lunch in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Murdock, NE. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3pm to 8pm with the family present from 6pm to 8pm at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. Memorials are suggested to the family.
