Gladys was born August 17, 1926 south of Scribner to Charles and Ida 'Hoge' Furstenau. She was baptized on October 4, 1926 at Trinity Lutheran Church and confirmed on May 12, 1940 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Gladys married Fred Jr. Hasemann on February 4, 1945 at United Lutheran Church in Scribner. After their marriage they farmed northeast of Scribner. The couple moved in to Scribner to the Elkhorn Valley Villa in January of this year. Gladys was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church north of Hooper.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Clarence and Arnold, sisters Frances Mikes, Irene Otteman, Adeline Sievers and LuAnne Schleuter.
The funeral will be 10:30am Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church north of Hooper. The Rev. Judy Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials will be determined at a later date. Visitation will be in Scribner on Friday from 3pm to 8pm with the family receiving friends from 6pm to 8pm at Ludvigsen's Scribner Funeral Chapel. Visitation will continue 1 hour before the service at the church.
