Died Tuesday December 26, 2017 at Shalimar Garden in Fremont

Jennie was born November 20, 1940 in Fremont to Ivan and Mercedes 'Lincoln' August. She was raised in Fremont before moving to Yutan where she graduated from Yutan High School in 1958. She married Leon Stange on August 19, 1961. The couple farmed 2 ½ miles northwest of Yutan until moving into Fremont in 1988.

Jennie was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Yutan and the American Legion Post 262 Auxiliary.

Survivors:
Daughter – Julie (Dale Show) Stange
Son – Mark Stange
Granddaughter – Courtney Mills
Great granddaughter – Grace Silva, all of Fremont

Jennie was preceded in death by her husband Leon in 2008 and son Michael in 2009.

A memorial service will be 10:30am Saturday, December 30 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Yutan. Memorials are suggested to American Legion Post 262 or St. John's Lutheran Church. Burial will be at a later date in Hollst-Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be Friday from 4pm to 6pm at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont.

"I had just talked to Jenny the week before Christmas. She called to thank me for the Christmas card. I told her that I surely missed seeing her walk by with the dogs, and would always stop to chat a bit You could almost set the clock by her. She said, " Ya... well there won't be anymore of that." She was a regular at Hy-Vee restaurant almost every day. We'll miss you Jenny."
