Donald J. Ruwe, 94, of Fremont,
died Friday (Sept. 22, 2017) in Dunklau Gardens, Fremont.
He was born on March 9, 1923 on the family farm in Washington County. His parents were Howard and Adeline (Rabe) Ruwe. Following his schooling, he farmed with his father.
On April 8, 1944, Don was married to Mildred Weitzenkamp. They farmed in Washington County near Telbasta until moving to a farm in Burt County. After retirement, Don and Mildred moved into Fremont in 1992. They had been members of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Uehling, and after moving into Fremont they became members of Salem Lutheran Church.
Don was preceded in death by his wife Mildred, 2 sisters, and his parents.
Survivors: 2 daughters – Janis (Gerald) Stover, Hooper
Donna (David) Clough, Edina, Minnesota

2 brothers – Richard (Dee) Ruwe, Thousand Oaks, Calif.
Raymond (Loretta) Ruwe, Fremont
The funeral service will be 10:30 AM Thursday at Salem Lutheran Church, Fremont, with the Rev. Chip Borgstadt. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to his church. Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, will be on Wednesday from 3 to 8 PM with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM.
