Inez M. Walters age 78, of Fremont, passed away Monday August 28, 2017 at The Heritage at Shalimar Gardens Memory Unit surrounded by family.
Inez was born January 13, 1939 on the family farm southwest of Hooper to Burill and Irma 'VonSeggern' Mitchell. She was raised on the farm and graduated from Hooper High School. She worked for a short time at Schwesers Department Store in Fremont. She married Robert Walters and they later divorced. Inez was a custodian for the Fremont Public Schools for 30 years, working at the high school until she retired.
Inez was a member of First Lutheran Church and had volunteered in the nursery.

Mitch (Shelly) Walters of Omaha
David (Michelle) Walters of Fremont
DeAnn Reese of Fremont
Grandchildren – Damon (Melinda) Walters, Brandi (Jesse) Zavadil, Steve (Leah) Johnson,
Samantha (Zach) Christensen, Randi (fiancé Jake DeBoer) Walters, Grace and Luke Walters,
Katie, Tyler and Kayla Reese.
6 great grandchildren – Ethan and Griffin Walters, Reagan and Harper Zavadil, Hayden and Skylar Christensen
Sister – Charlene Selberg of Rapid City, SD.
Inez was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Gail, 2 sisters and a brother.
The funeral will be 10am Thursday at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. Burial will follow in the Hooper Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont on Wednesday from 3pm to 8pm with the family present from 6pm to 8pm. Memorials are suggested to the Fremont Area Alzheimer's Fund.
