Leoda E. Messick age 71, of Fremont
Died Tuesday May 30, 2017 at Fremont Health Medical Center
Leoda was born July 17, 1945 in Beatrice to Jim and Virginia 'Sauer' Dickerson. She was raised mostly in Kimball where she graduated High School. After high school Leoda married Richard Florence, they lived in several places while he was in the Navy and together they had 3 children. Later, Leoda went to Metro Community College and received her LPN. She moved to Kansas City and married David Messick. After they both retired they moved back to Fremont. David preceded her in death in 2014.
Leoda like to fish and scrapbook and she was an accomplished seamstress.
Survivors:
Daughter – Shelia (Dan) Blackburn of Fremont
Son – Billy Joe Florence of Fremont
Mother – Virginia Rasmussen of Fremont
3 grandchildren – Tyler, Dillon, Demitri
2 great grandchildren – Bayleigh and Beau
David's children – Jimmy, Staci & Travis
Leoda was also preceded in death by a son Randy Lynn Florence.
Private family services will be held with the burial in Ridge Cemetery in Fremont. Memorials may be directed to the family.
