Janis D. Tibke age 80, of Arlington
Died Friday January 6, 2017 at Fremont Health
Janis was born on June 26, 1936 in Ida Grove, Iowa to Earl and Minnie 'Scott' Surber. She moved with her family to Omaha at a young age eventually graduating from Omaha Technical High School. She married Wayne Tibke and they continued to live in Omaha. After their four children were born the family moved to Arlington. Janis worked at House Lumber in Fremont, Arlington Schools then at the Bank of the West in Omaha.
Janis was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Narcissus Chapter #269 of Omaha and St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington.

Janis was preceded in death by her husband Wayne in December of 1980, parents and two sisters.
The funeral will be 10:30am Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church north of Arlington. The Rev. Rick Kanoy will officiate. Burial will follow in the Arlington Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Arlington Volunteer Fire & Rescue. Visitation will be Monday from 3pm to 8pm with the family present from 6pm to 8pm at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will continue for one hour before the service at the church.
