Leander “Lee”Ritzen

"The Ritzen family was very close with the Nolte family during the first half of the 20th century. My mother referred to Lee's dad as "Uncle Mike", and the families traveled to Colorado for summer vacations in Estes Park. My Grandfather was treasurer of Tabitha Home, and came to Lincoln every Tuesday. I believe my Grandfather and Leander's father were in the seminary together. My mother and aunt, the two living Nolte children wanted to be at the funeral, but send their sympathy. They enjoyed being part of the Ritzen family and growing up together. I live close to Tabitha, and have fond memories hearing stories about the Ritzens, so I wanted to share warm memories and heartfelt sympathy. As hard as it is for us to let go of them, Lee is now with those family members and friends that have gone before us, and are their waiting for our arrival in Paradise, joining our Maker and Saviour, Jesus Christ, in the Heavenly mansion they have prepared."

"Dear Dale, Paul, and Sandra, How proud Lee always was of his children. He loved to talk about you and your accomplishments. Lee was a Wonderful Christian man. He and I had many many long conversations. How he loved your mother, he was forever telling me what a fine lady she was. I am glad I got to meet and know Lee at KMTV.He and Gordie Thomas were the best men there. My husband and I visited your folks in Fontenell a couple of times. Lee was So Happy they moved there. It reminded him of his boyhood days. I called him at the nursing home in Hooper around Christmas time this year. It was good to hear his voice altho I could tell he wasn't feeling the best and seemed weak. We exchanged Christmas cards for years. I am so sorry I cannot be at the Memorial Service to tell him goodbye, but I have already done that in my prayers. I have had a stroke making it impossible for me to get around and I am very nuch house-bound. What a Great Friend he was. Oh how I will miss him. "My Uncle was one of the best people I know. Although I didn't have the opportunity to see him much these last few years I can still remember some fantastic Thanksgivings at Grandmother Ruwe's house watching football and enjoying family. He will be missed. His warm smile and kind ways will always stay with me. My thoughts are with Dale, Paul, and Sandy and my deepest sympathy in your loss."
