Jeffrey T. Meyer, age 62, of Fremont,
died Friday, October 14, 2016 in Massachusetts
He was born September 3, 1953 in Fremont to Henry and Vivian (Kent) Meyer. He was baptized February 23, 1964 at First Baptist Church in Fremont where he became a member. He grew up in Fremont and graduated from Fremont Senior High School in 1970 and enlisted in the Air Force that summer and served 20 years. He was an aerospace technician.
Jeffrey was married to Donna Reninger and a son, Eric, was born to this marriage. Later, Jeffrey and Donna were divorced. Later, Jeffrey was married to Gail Kaenek and they had a son Daniel, and a daughter, Nicole . In 2008, Jeffrey and Gail divorced. Then Jeffrey returned to Fremont and worked several years at the Sleep Inn Motel. He was a member of the 1970 High School Class Reunion Committee and they continued their friendship with weekly coffees.
He suffered a stroke in 2014, and his son Daniel came here to be his caretaker. In 2016, they moved back to Massachusetts to be closer to his daughter and granddaughter. He was living in a rehab center after suffering several more strokes.
He was preceded by his father Henry L. Meyer, and infant sister Terri Jo, maternal grandmother Myra Kent, paternal grandparents Louis and Meta Meyer, several aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his best friend Gail Meyer, sons Eric of Omaha and Daniel of Seekonk, Mass., daughter Nicole Meyer and granddaughter Alexis Laprade of Seekonk, granddaughter Alyza Meyer of Nevada, brothers Richard Meyer of Mission, Texas, Ronald (Jane) Meyer of Fremont, Jerry (Valerie) Meyer of Murfreesboro, Tenn., special cousin Gina Meyer of Omaha, several aunts, uncles, many nieces and nephews, and members of his high school reunion committee.
A graveside service will be 10 AM Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont with Military Honors by the Fremont Honor Guard. Memorials may be directed to Vivian Meyer, 650 W. 21st St. Apt. 150, Fremont, NE 68025
