Marilyn E. Schlueter, 83, of Fremont;
died early Thursday morning (Dec. 31, 2015) in the Fremont Health Medical Center.
She was born October 8, 1932 to August and Edna 'Renner' Hoefs. She was born on the family farm near Wisner where she grew up. Marilyn graduated from Wisner High School.
On September 9, 1951, Marilyn was married to Donald Schlueter in the Zion Lutheran Church in Wisner. They lived first in Wisner, and moved to Fremont in 1956 where Don worked as a carpenter. Marilyn was employed by the Hinky Dinky Grocery Store for over 25 years.
Family was important to Marilyn. She enjoyed following her grandchildren's activities. She was also a Husker fan.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its Eunice Circle. She volunteered in the Trinity Lutheran School library, and listening to the kids read.
Survivors: 3 daughters – Barb Francis of Omaha
Marie (Roger) Able of Haines City, Florida
Linda (Mike) Bechtel of Fremont
6 grandchildren – Brett(wife Nancy), Andrea (Shawn), Gary, Eric (Jasmine), Jason, Jennifer (Brad)
4 great grandchildren – Lexi, Noah, Carson, and Raven
2 brothers – David (Janelle) Hoefs of Seward
Gary (Dort) Hoefs of Arapahoe
2 sisters – Sarah Nielsen of West Point
Alice (Bob) Lemmon of Orlando, Florida
Marilyn was preceded by her husband Donald in September of 2005, and by 3 brothers, Tom, Virgil, and Danny
The funeral service will be 2 PM, January 8, 2016 (Friday) at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Dan Heuer. The committal will follow in Ridge Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran School Library. Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary will be Thursday (Jan. 7th) 2 to 8 PM.
