Robert Edward Knoell passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Nye Legacy in Fremont NE at the age of 89 years, 11 months.
Bob was born July 27, 1925 to Frank and Marguerite (Gannon) Knoell at Fremont. He attended Beebe School Dist. 63 and graduated from Fremont High School in 1942. On May 29, 1947, he married Beverly Soderling. They celebrated 68 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by children: Kathy Kaufman of Nebraska City, Barbara (Bob) Fickbohm of Fremont and Bob (Sally) Knoell of Crete. Grandchildren: Matt (Jessica) Fickbohm, Fremont; Traci Snyder, Lincoln; Josh (Leah) Fickbohm, Fremont; Mandy (Jake) Reilly, Fremont; Chris (Jill) Kaufman, Lincoln; Megan (Shawn) Ekwall, Blair; Ryan (Katy) Knoell, Gretna and Allison Knoell, Lincoln. Great-grandchildren are Zachary and Taylor Snyder, Cadence and Becker Fickbohm, Flynn and Hadley Fickbohm, Ben and Emily Reilly, Landon and Nolan Ekwall, Cash and Carter Kaufman and Piper Knoell.
He was preceded by brother William Knoell, sister Margaret Fedde and son-in-law Brad Kaufman.
Bob farmed, was in the construction business and ran the road maintainer for Nickerson Township. He served on the District 63 school board and Platte Township Board. He was a leader for the Rawhide Riders 4-H club. He built two homes. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and charter member of Peace Lutheran Church. He was devoted to Bev and his family.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wed. at Peace Lutheran with Vicar Sean Tyler officiating. Visitation with friends and family will be Tues. 6-8 p.m. at Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. According to his wishes, the body will be cremated.
Ludvigsen Mortuary of Fremont is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Peace Lutheran Church or the Nebraska Children's Home.
