Thomas R. Shaw, age 90, of Fremont
died Wednesday, May 13, 2015 in the Fremont Health Medical Center.

He was born to Homer and Lois (Zahniser) Shaw on January 14, 1925 in Grove City, Pennsylvania where he grew up and attended school. He served in the United States Army during the years of 1943 to 1946. He was on a LST Ship, and saw duty in Guam, Japan, and the Philippines building bridges and runways.

On June 23, 1947, Thomas was married to Flo Rohr in Greenville, PA. Thomas worked for the Cooper Bessemer Co. for 35 years as a diesel mechanic doing installation work in power plants. For the next 13 years, he worked on his own doing the same kind of work.

In 1962, Thomas and Flo moved to Nebraska, living in Omaha, Blair, and then Fremont.

Amy (Mike) Stephens – Delta Junction, Alaska
Rick (Tonya) Shaw – Blandenboro, North Carolina

sister – Donna Furia of Hadley, PA

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Lois, 2 sons, Richard and Homer, and 3 brothers.

The funeral service will be 10:30 AM Monday (May 18th) at Fremont Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Tom Shaw officiating. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors by the Fremont Honor Guard of American Legion Post 20 and VFW Post 854. Memorials are suggested to the Fremont Church of the Nazarene and the Reach Church of the Nazarene of Sioux Falls, SD. Visitation will be Sunday with the family present from 5pm to 8pm at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel.
